“Spanish Exile in Tunisia: The Intrahistory” event scheduled for Friday at Cervantes Institute in Tunis

The "Spanish Exile in Tunisia: The Intrahistory," event will be held on Friday by the Cultural Section of the Embassy of Spain in Tunisia in collaboration with the Cervantes Institute. The planned exhibition will feature a series of photographs and cyanotypes showcasing the history of Spaniards in Tunisia, specifically in Kasserine. It will be accompanied by a performance by Lobna Noomene, featuring music by Luc Girardeau and texts related to the Spanish exile in Tunisia. The event is part of the project "I Want to Talk to You about Humanity," addressing the issues of migration and exile. It is worth noting that with the end of the Spanish Civil War (July 17, 1936 - April 1, 1939), more than 4,000 Republicans, including officers of the Merchant Marine and civilians, fled to Tunisia. Thousands of refugees, numbering around 12,000 individuals, left their country, escaping the Franco regime, heading towards the Tunisian and Algerian coasts. Source: EN - Agence Tunis Afrique Presse
