Accra: Ghanaian musician Emmanuel Kwadwo Oware, known by his stage name Ayisi, says measuring an artiste's success should not be solely based on his or her streaming and social media numbers. According to the highly renowned composer, the impact of the songs you create and how others relate to your music provides an accurate appraisal of an artiste's success and influence. In an interview with GNA Entertainment, Ayisi, formerly known as 'A.I.', stated that he had over the years received massive support and love from music fans, especially after 'Grind' hit single back in 2016. 'I get more love than my numbers than my social media reflects. I think considering numbers is a poor way of judging how successful an artiste is. How successful an artiste is should not be dependent on your numbers and verifications on social media. I get more love and support than my numbers show,' he said. When asked about the progress he has made in his music career over the past years, Ayisi responded, 'I will always be a stude nt of the music craft. I have set goals during my music journey. When people relate to my music, I believe it is a fair assessment of how I am achieving my goals.' 'I get more support than I even imagined and enough radio play, and every day new people discover me, and they are amazed I am even a Ghanaian.' Talking about his new song with award-winning songwriter Fameye, Ayisi revealed he had always wanted to feature Fameye on a song and was glad they finally came together to create a masterpiece. 'I have looked to record a song with Fameye for some time now, just that I didn't have the right song until the 'Sika' single. Fortunately, I knew someone very close to him, and he made the collaboration happen. I was impressed with his verse and finally happy that he understood the texture of the song,' Ayisi said. The 'Sika' single since its release a fortnight ago has racked impressive streaming numbers and has gained massive radio play. Source: Ghana News Agency
