Ten Tunisian universities have improved their rankings in the 2023 Times Higher Education (THE) Arab University Rankings published Wednesday, Higher Education and Scientific Research Ministry said on Thursday. The University of Tunis El Manar ranked 25, University of Sfax(39), University of Tunis (61-70), University of Monastir and University of Sousse (71-80), University of Carthage (91-100), University of Gabes and University of Manouba (101-120), University of Gafsa and University of Jendouba (161+). King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Saudi Arabia took the top spot, followed by the United Arab Emirates' Khalifa University and Qatar University. The Times Higher Education Arab University Rankings 2023 reveal the strength of higher education across the Arab region. The methodology is based on the same framework as the World University Rankings, but some adjustments have been made and some new metrics have been included to reflect the features and missions of universities in the Middle East and North Africa. Universities are judged across all their core missions - teaching, research quality and environment, society and international outlook - to provide the most comprehensive and balanced comparisons available.
