Teams of the Tunisian Red Crescent were dispatched on Sunday to Ben Guerdane, in the governorate of Médenine, to check on the health of irregular migrants stranded on the border. Contacted by TAP, spokeswoman for the Tunisian Red Crescent Boutheina Gregba pointed out that the deployment of these teams had been ordered by President of the Republic Kais Saied. Female migrants had been taken to the Ben Guerdane hospital to receive the necessary treatment, and a migrant suffering from a fractured leg had been admitted to the same hospital, she added. Some 200 irregular migrants stranded on the Tunisian-Libyan border have shown a willingness to return to their homelands. The Red Crescent is currently in contact with the relevant organisations, Boutheina Gregba said. Saied received on Saturday President of the Tunisian Red Crescent Abdellatif Chabou. The meeting focused on the role of this organisation in assisting migrants who are still stranded on the Tunisian territory....., according to a Presidency of the Republic press release. This assistance must continue in coordination with all the relevant authorities.
