Women asked to be Peace Ambassadors for 2024 general elections

Reverend Mrs Patricia Akpene Tegbe-Agbo, the National Coordinator of the Women’s Ministry of the Global Evangelical Church (GEC), has asked women, particularly Christian women, to be peace ambassadors before, during and after the 2024 general elections.

She said God had placed women in very privileged position and that they should not forget that they were mothers, wives, aunties and daughters of those in politics.

Rev. Mrs. Tegbe-Agbo was addressing the 2024 Rally of the Kumasi Presbytery Women’s Ministry of GEC in Kumasi.

The three-day event was held at the Katanga Hall of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology on the theme: ‘Empowering Women for Holiness and Change.’

She said ‘We live in the same houses or communities with these politicians. We know them very well.’

She urged all women to begin the process of ensuring peace from their various homes by educating those within their circles on the value of nationtional peace and unity above every personal or parochial interests.

d, it was incumbent on women to bring change into their own lives through empowering themselves spiritually, financially, academically and socially among others in order to make positive impact on their families and society at large.

Dr. Mrs. Lebene Tettey, wife of the former Moderator of the Church, said women must strive to be the Deborah’s of our time.

Speaking on the theme which was based on Judges Chapter 4, Dr. Mrs. Tettey encouraged Women to incalcate positive virtues of biblical women like hardwork, courageous, supportive and daring even if others fail to take such steps.

Rev. Dr. Smith Tettey, the Kumasi Presbytery Chairman praised the Ministry for their dilligence contributing in no small measure to the growth of the GEC in the Presbytery.

Rev. Mrs. Comfort Kokumah, the Kumasi Prsbytery Coordinator of the Women’s Ministry was grateful to God for bringing the Women together as a Presbytery for their Rally after eight years.
